What Youth are saying

Youth around the North have made a promise to be smoke free... Here is what they have to say:

Melva says she promises to be smoke free because:  you can get a bad disease and die from it, and it is poisonous for your body as it is unhealthy and I am a n athlete, and I enjoy sports.

Melanie says she promises to be smoke free because:  Both my parents smoke and they are having a hard time quitting.  Also, my grandma and uncle died from it, and I find it truly disgusting.  I also want to stay healthy.

Charlij jo says she promises to be smoke free because:  it could cause cancer and people would die from second hand smoke.

Jim says he promises to be smoke free because:  it smells gross, cost a lot and makes you run slow.  It kills you.  I want to live to see my own kids.

Jason says he promises to be smoke free because: I don’t want yellow teeth and fingers.

Daphne says she promises to be smoke free because:  when I breathe in smoke, I feel sick, bad headaches, smelly. And I don’t want to have black lungs.  I want to be healthy.

Sarah says she promises to be smoke free because:  I can make you really sick and give you cancer.  Also, all of your clothes and your breath smell gross.

Hannah says she promises to be smoke free because:  I don’t want yellow teeth and nails and it causes cancer.  My uncle died from smoking, he was living through an oxygen machine and ITS NOT COOL!

Laina says she promises to be smoke free because: It’s cool like that!  I want to live a long, happy and active life.  I wouldn’t want to spend my money to something that could possibly kill me.
